The Mandatory Soft Story Program provides a weekly update on the status of properties identified as soft story.

The dataset represents the different Compliance Tiers for the Mandatory Soft Story Program and the current status of these properties. For more information on the Compliance Tiers, please contact the Soft Story Program.

Tier I. Buildings that contain a Group A, E, R- 2.1, R-3.1 or R-4 occupancy on any story

Tier II. Buildings containing 15 or more dwelling units, except for buildings assigned to Tier I or Tier IV

Tier III. Building not falling within the definition of another tier.

Tier IV. Buildings that contain a Group B or M occupancy on the first story or in a basement or underfloor area that has any portion extending above grade, and buildings that are in mapped liquefaction zones, except for buildings assigned to Tier 1.

Projection and Datum
· The files are referenced to the California State Plane Coordinate System, Zone III. The coordinate units are in feet.
· The Datum is North American Datum 1983.

Snapshot of the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD) and the Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure (OCII) affordable housing pipeline projects. The projects listed are in the process of development--or are anticipated to be developed--in partnership with non-profit or for-profit developers and financed through city funding agreements, ground leases, disposition and participation agreements and conduit bond financing. The Affordable Housing Pipeline also includes housing units produced by private developers through the Inclusionary Affordable Housing Program. Data reflects all projects as of September 30, 2023.

For details, please see here.*** In preparation for the San Francisco Urban Forest Plan (2013), the Planning Department performed an Urban Tree Canopy (UTC) Analysis using aerial imagery and additional data sets to determine a canopy estimate for the City & County of San Francisco. This analysis estimated San Francisco's tree canopy at 13.7%. This number supersedes a 2007 canopy estimate of 11.9% (USDA Forest Service, 2007). Given the differing methodologies used to arrive at these two numbers it is difficult to draw conclusions regarding urban forest growth or decline based on a comparison. The current analysis establishes a baseline and methodology from which future canopy analyses can be conducted and compared over subsequent years to track San Francisco's urban forest growth or decline over time. The San Francisco Controller's Office maintains a database of budgetary data that appears in summarized form in each Annual Appropriation Ordinance (AAO). This data is presented on the Budget report hosted at http://openbook.sfgov.org, and is also available in this dataset in CSV format. New data is added on an annual basis when the AAO is published for each new fiscal year. Data is available from fiscal year 2010 forward.
